Implants are used to replace the roots of teeth. Everything else is screwed into the implant.

 

Two ways to attach the new tooth:

• screw the crown directly into the implant

• cement the crown onto a post which is screwed into the implant

The x-ray above shows a crown which is held in place by a screw. The screw goes through a hole in the center of the crown. This screw access hole will be plugged after the screw is torqued into place. A nice solution which allows the implant to be inspected very easily and the crown replaced if needed.​
